General Information - Pool Liners |

|
We carry a large selection of pool liners. The sides of the pool tend to receive the most abuse so it is best to choose a liner with 28 or 30Mil for this area. For liners that will be treated tenderly, 20 mil walls are available. If the floor of your pool is of a softer composition, such as vermiculite or Pool-Krete, then a 20 mil floor should be sufficient. Abrasive compositions such as sand or concrete should be have a 28 or 30 mil floor. Because the 28 or 30 mil vinyl is thicker it tends to be a littler harder to install. Wait for a warm sunny day. The warmer weather brings out the elasticity in the vinyl. This will ensure an easier and safer installation The Universal Bead The bead that we use is universal and will work for most liners. It utilizes a lip that catches the inside of the track that makes it easily installed and easily removed. Be sure to check that this bead will work for your pool before ordering. The Proper Fit The purpose of a pool liner is to keep the water in the pool from leaking out. It is not meant to and cannot support the weight of the water. The framework and main pool structure is for this purpose. The liner will come slightly smaller so that it will stretch a little and give a clean smooth fit complete and filled. The liner should be almost snug to the pool frame so that when the water is added the weight and stress of the water is put on the framework and not the liner. If the liner is not like this, then it will not be covered by the warranty and the liner will likely fail. At Rontimco we specialize in custom fits. Call us if you need help. Wrinkles and corners Installation should be done on a warm day so that the vinyl is at a high elasticity. While installing the liner the liner you will notice that some of the corners wrinkle up. Many corners are seamed together on a radius, cutting down undeeded material. If the wrinkles are large, then it may be nesssasary to pull out part of the liner and spread it out more evenly. Small wrinkles and dimples are normal and usually will smooth out when the water is added. Sun Shield The area above the water line receives an intense amount of destructive sunlight. The vinyl is weakened here by the UV rays and a replacement liner will soon be needed. To help lengthen the life of you liner, we offer a Sun Shield or an additional piece of vinyl that will extend from the same track as the liner and fall into the water a few inches. This extra piece of vinyl will match the vinyl of the wall keeping a uniform look. The sun light will do its destructive work on the shield and leave the actual liner protected. This method can greatly increase the life of your pool liner. Because the Sun Shield is loose in the water, it will not keep the smooth and tight look of the rest of the liner. Replacement mounting tracks are available in two common styles, the top mount and the side mount. The top mount track is made of durable plastic and comes in 8’ lengths ($8.28 ea). Adjustable Curve top mount track is also available in 8’ lengths ($11.40). We provide the track and customers provide the mounting bolts. These can be purchased at most any hardware store. For pools with redwood walls or walls that have difficult under coping installations, the side mount track may be better. With a few shallow cuts in the back this track will fit just about any pool shape. The side mount track also comes in 8’ foot lengths ($10.75ea) The mounting bolts for these tracks can be found in most any hardware store.
