General Information The Versatube carports come in a complete do-it-yourself kit including hardware, butyl tape, vinyl trim & ground anchors. The frame is made of galvanized 15 gauge 2"x3" steel tubing, 14 gauge at the "swaged" areas. Posts are spaced 4.5' on center. The roofing is 29 gauge all purpose sheet metal, powder coat painted (3 coats for maximum protection) in a variety of colors. 26 gauge sheet metal is available for heavier snow load areas. Truss bracing - horizontal braces under the roof that add greater strength & stability - is available for units 20' wide, and is required on spans (widths) of 24' or more. We offer a number of widths and heights, and lengths begin at 20' and continue at 4.5' intervals. Carports can be installed on concrete, asphalt, and on the ground, although footers are recommended for better stability. Shipping Information This product is too heavy and large to ship by normal ground shipment. These kits must shipped by truck freight. Truck freight is different than standard UPS, FedEx or US Mail. The pallets are 46” wide by 126” long. The heights range from 15” to 24”. Unfortunately these pallets are just too long to be able to fit on a lift gate. You will be responsible for unloading the product from the back of the truck. If you have a fork lift your life is easy, but as most of us do not, you will probably have to break the product down and unloaded it by hand. Unless the product is being shipped to a business, you should receive an arrival notification and be able to set up a time for delivery. If possible you should have a friend available to help you unload it. One very important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the delivery looks like it has any damage to the product or even to the packaging, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This will help insure that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem. Damage is rare but if it does occur it makes it much easier to resolve if it is identified at the time of delivery. If you are interested in additional services, you can contact Rontimco and ask for the tracking number. With this information you can call the shipping company and ask about what other services they offer. If you decide to go with an additional service, you will be responsible for paying the shipping company directly, for that service. Most customers find that the arrival notification is all they need so we include the price of this service on all orders.
