Will the awning be attached or freestanding?

Freestanding	Costs more - Freestanding awnings require more posts, beams, and other materials than attached awnings. Must use footings with freestanding awnings.

Will the roof panels overhang past the posts?

Yes		This is an example of a w-pan awning with an overhang. You can see that the posts attach to a beam and the roof panels overhang, extending beyond the beam.
No		This is an example of a w-pan awning with no overhang. You can see that the posts attach directly to the extruded gutter at the end of the roof panels.

How will you attach the awning to the ground?

Footers	Footers are required if awning will be freestanding. Footing attachments are more stable and therefore require fewer posts.

What is the snow load/live load in your area?

Snow/Live Load: 10 25 30 40 60

Snow load can be found by contacting your local building department. If you haven't done so yet just make your best guess so we can get you a price quote. A snow load of 10 lbs per square foot is used where there is no snow in your area.
