Each anchor takes about 10 seconds to secure. • SAFETY - The Hugger Cover is made of 14-oz. reinforced polyester vinyl. There is a strong mesh woven into the fabric that gives it its strength. As it lays directly on the water, there is extra strength given from below when there's weight on the cover. Combine that with the stainless steel aircraft cable perimeter, you're worry-free from your children or pets accidentally falling in the pool! We've actually had 3 men standing on an installed Hugger Cover (one of whom weighed 250 lbs.!) and the cover held perfectly!

• SECURITY - The Bolt-down anchoring provides an extra measure of security. Tighten down the bolts when leaving your pool for a length of time.

The "HUGGER" can cut your heating costs by up to 80%. You won't see steam rising in the morning after "HUGGER" has been covering your swimming pool all night. (Due to the cover sitting directly on the surface of the water,on warmer days, extreme heat may build up in the upper 9" to 12" of your pool's water. During these times, it is suggested that your pool filter be set to run during these periods as the filter will "mix" the overall temperature of the water and provide a more comfortable swimming experience.)

To provide you with an analogy of how effective our solar heating principal works, you might compare the effects observed from an ordinary green garden hose. One that has been sitting in the direct sunlight for even a short period of time can yield very hot water when it is first turned on. Because our swimming pool cover is made from a much darker blue color, and 95% of it is in direct contact with the pool water, the actual solar effect is much greater than that of the garden hose. "HUGGER" is an effective and inexpensive solar heating system for your swimming pool. It would take years of savings to offset the cost of an expensive solar heating system compared to your "HUGGER".

Anchoring Systems

The flat pin anchoring system is made for easy-on, easy-off usage. 1/4" holes are drilled at 4' intervals in the deck around the pool. The pin drops into the hole, and the cable is looped around the pin. To remove the pool cover, lift the pin and unhook the cable. The pins can remain in place in the deck without, and since they don't stick up, there is nothing to trip or step on.

The concrete anchors are used when more security is needed. The concrete anchor sleeve (similar to the "Redhead" brand anchor) is set into holes at 6' intervals around the pool. The bolt with washer threads into the anchor. The cable loops around the bolt and the bolt is tightened down.

"HUGGER" lies directly on the surface of the water of your swimming pool and then extends up and over the coping and is secured to the deck. Many other covers just lie on the surface of the water, which can invite an accident. Our system uses no "straps" or cables that can cause dangerous and harmful trips or falls. With the "HUGGER"there are No sandbags, water tubes, or heavy weights needed to hold it in place!

Easy to Store

Because there are no bubbles or foam, which make many pool covers bulky to handle) the "HUGGER"easily unfolds from a small compact size. One or two people can put it in place in minutes. Properly folded, an 800 square foot cover folds into a cube approximately 32" x 22" x 14".
